Oaks Are Important!

Help Our Ecosystem Grow

We are excited to announce a special focus for the 2026 Spring Tree & Shrub Sale. Thanks to generous donations, we are making it easier and more affordable than ever to plant Oak trees.

Why Oaks?

Oaks are considered Keystone Species. This means they act as a foundation for the entire food chain. By planting just one Oak, you are providing a home and food for more wildlife than almost any other tree species.

  • Support for Pollinators: Oaks support more species of Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) than any other tree in our region.
  • A Natural Legacy: While they grow slowly, Oaks are long-lived "monoliths" that provide shade, beauty, and ecological benefits to urban and natural areas for generations.
  • Food web foundation: "Oaks support more forms of life and more fascinating interactions than any other tree genus in North America."

Discounts & Accessibility

We believe that conservation should be affordable. To encourage more people to choose Oaks, we are using donated funds to discount all Oak species in our upcoming sale.

Lower prices mean more trees in the ground, leading to a healthier, more biodiverse Washtenaw County. We have previously successfully partnered with organizations to bring savings to you, and we are thrilled to continue this tradition in 2026.
