7860 Trees distributed by Partnership Giveaways
Every year we offer the Spring Tree & Shrub Sale to our residents and surrounding communities, and rotate around 50 various species of shrubs, trees, berries, and fruit for conservation purposes and home farms & gardens. It is simple in concept but complex in reality, we do our best to provide a consistent service and resources to the community, and are navigating many funding and other obstacles. Thanks to all for your participation and patience!
Special thanks:
- All the Amazing WCCD staff who put their hearts into the work.
- Thanks the donor who continues to support the Milkweed Giveaway and funded this year's Oaks Are Important discount campaign, which provided $5,000 in discounts for oaks in the pre-sale and trees that will be given away at the Native Plant Expo on June 6!
- Washtenaw Farm Council grounds for being our consistent venue. Check out their other events!
- MACD for getting the beautiful Pollinator T-shirt fundraiser organized!
- All the nurseries we source from, who continue to provide some high quality big seedlings this year. And some tiny blueberries unfortunately.
Thanks to our partners who joined during our distribution to provide expert advise and resources:
- Legacy Land Conservancy
- Davey Tree Experts
- TreeTown Urban Forestry Team - Our 2025 Tree Conservationists of the Year awardees
Thanks to all our Customers, Volunteers, Staff, Partners and everyone involved!
See all the good times and smiling faces on our event photo album on Facebook!
200+ Tree Cages provided
Thanks to funds from the DNR Forest 2 MI Faucet grant, our Community Forester and volunteers created and distributed 200+ free tree cages to support tree survival.
Over 100 volunteers supported for nearly 500 hours!
We've been so fortunate to have so many volunteers returning each year to bring their energies and efforts to making the event operations run smoothly. Volunteers help with set-up, organizing the 50+ species/products, packing the 873+ orders, and getting the orders to the customers at the pick-up distribution.
We're always glad for more volunteers if you're interested. Volunteers get various bonuses including free shirts at the Native Plant Expo, early access to sales, and special events.
