    Join your neighbors and community members to learn about the benefits of and opportunities for farmland and natural area preservation.  Landowners are encouraged to attend to discuss individual properties with staff from local conservation organizations (Washtenaw County Conservation District, Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation, Legacy Land Conservancy, Ann Arbor Green Belt, and Huron River Watershed Council) following the presentation.

    This is the second offering of this hands-on workshop where you can learn about cultivating your very own mushrooms at home! This is the 101 level, the same workshop that was offered in Fall of 2025. So whether you're a curious mushroom forager or just getting started learning, this event is perfect for all mushroom enthusiasts. Experts from Great Lakes Mushroom Company will guide you through the process step by step, teaching you how to create the perfect environment for your fungi to thrive. Don't miss out on this fun and educational opportunity to learn the art of in-home mushroom cultivation!

  • Tillage Surveys Coming Soon

    This spring you may see the WCCD truck out driving slowly along some roads in the southern part of the county. We will be looking at fields to learn how widespread particular fall and spring tillage practices are.

  • Film Screening - Organic Rising

    Organic Rising is coming to The Michigan Theater, April 15th.
    Mingle with area farmers starting at 5:30pm, film begins at 6pm.
    A panel with the award winning Director, Anthony Suau, and local farming advocates to
    follow. This event is hosted by Real Organic Project and Transition to Organic Partnership Program.
