  • Fruit tree grafting kit now available

    We now offer a Grafting Pruner Tool kit intended for scion and rootstock between 1/6" - 1/2" in diameter to perform various grafts. This tool and many others are available to borrow from the Washtenaw Tool Bank Collective.

  • Spring Tree & Shrub Sale: Success!

    Another year, another amazing Spring Tree & Shrub Sale full of surprises, challenges, and successes! We sold and distributed over 37,225 plants to their forever homes with over 950 customers, collectively creating more landscapes that are more bio-diverse, edible, and beautiful!

    We'll have up to 100 of most all our species, and many planting aids. No guarantees of what is available in advance. We will sell all first-come first-serve, so come early to get in line! Shed D at the Farm Council grounds.

  • WCCD At Work: Kristen Sutter

    It’s a muddy day on the farm, and the bark of a dog echoes as you step out of the truck, boots sinking into the soft ground. It's a far cry from the office, but this is where the work happens — on the land, with real problems to solve. For Kristen, a technician with the Washtenaw County Conservation District, this is all in a day's work.

Now we offer even more tools through one platform from multiple locations: WCCD offices (Ann Arbor) AND the Growing Hope farm (Ypsilanti).   • Introducing our WCCD spring Seasonal Staff: Walker Whitehouse

    We're glad to have Walker join the team to support conservation resources programs as a seasonal staff member. He'll be assisting the Plant Sales, Rain Barrel Sales, and Tool & Equipment programs. He has experience in community outreach, conservation education, and parks maintenance from previous roles.

  • Expo Early Bird tickets for sale

    Join us for the 6th annual Native Plant Expo & Marketplace on Saturday, June 7, at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds.

    Beat the crowds with the exclusive "Early Bird Hour" from 8 am to 9 am, offering plant enthusiasts first dibs. Limited tickets are available for just $5 each, kids under 10 are free. The main event is free and open to the public from 9 am to 1 pm.
