Fruit trees!

Every year we offer the Spring Tree & Shrub Sale to our residents and surrounding communities, and rotate around 50 various species of shrubs, trees, berries, and fruit for conservation purposes and home farms & gardens. It is simple in concept but complex in reality, we do our best to provide a consistent service and resources to the community, and are navigating many funding and other obstacles. Thanks to all for your participation and patience!

Special thanks:

Spring Tree Sale - line of customers

We offer pick-up on Friday 1-6pm and Saturday 9am-11am, but most of our eager customers come at 1pm on Friday to get their plants early and start planting.  Thanks for your patience!

Volunteer Support for the Win

Over 90 volunteers help over 4 days to make the event happen, we're always endlessly grateful for their efforts and enthusiasm!

We've been so fortunate to have so many volunteers returning each year to bring their energies and efforts to making the event operations run smoothly.  Volunteers help with set-up, organizing the 50+ species/products, packing the 873+ orders, and getting the orders to the customers at the pick-up distribution. We're always glad for more volunteers if you're interested. Volunteers get various bonuses including free shirts at the Native Plant Expo, early access to sales, and special events.

Partnership Tree Giveaways and Distributions

We've been recognizing and providing more support to many local partners providing tree distributions and giveaways sourcing from our tree distribution.  Notably, we want to thank all those who've used the resources and time for Earth Day, Arbor Day, and other tree giveaways:

  • Project RED (Rural Education Days) - 1700 white pine seedlings were donated by the WCCD and went home with 1700 3rd graders!
  • City of Ann Arbor - Office of Sustainability & Innovations: Tree Giveaway has continued sourcing trees and giving to the community. They gave away 1,000 seedlings this year, and have given away over 11,151 trees!
  • Chelsea Area Garden Club - For at least 3 years now, they've been sourcing trees and providing to the community, over 550 seedlings given away this year!
  • St. Andrews School got 100 trees for a planting and shifted to give away to their community.
  • Municipal Giveaways:
    • Ann Arbor township gave away 250 seedlings
    • City of Ypsilanti gave away 200 seedlings
    • City of Dexter gave away 600 seedlings
  • Super-star volunteers:
    • Karen Nelson gave away around 300 trees at the Saline Farmers Market!
