Attention Farmers: We know that on-farm conservation can be time-consuming and not immediately profitable for your business. We are excited to announce that the Michigan Conservation Stewardship for Farms Program (formerly MI Climate Smart Farms Program) has re-launched with a new focus on "Farmer First!"
You know best what your land and your business need and MCSFP is here to support that. 65% of this grant will be going out as direct payments to farmers in Southeast Michigan to incentivize conservation and marketing practices over the next 2 years.
The WCCD will be opening enrollment for MCSFP in early May, so look out for our enrollment details. In the meantime, any interested farmers may begin the process by ensuring that all their paperwork is up to date with their Farm Service Agency office. Follow this checklist for how to update your information.
