Shazia is a finance professional specializing in financial management, internal controls, and organizational efficiency. She holds MBA in finance and certifications in bookkeeping, nonprofit financial management ,etc. In her role with Washtenaw County Conservation District, she is focused on strengthening financial oversight, enhancing compliance, and building systems that support sustainable program delivery.
Outside of work, Shazia enjoys maintaining her vegetable and flower gardens, with a particular interest in rain gardens and native plants. During the summer, her garden attracts frequent visitors such as red cardinals, blue jays, rabbits, squirrels, butterflies, and occasionally hummingbirds and a small herd of deer-reflecting her appreciation for creating spaces that support both beauty and biodiversity. She is an avid reader, speaks three languages, and has pursued in-depth study of classical Arabic.
