Educational event about the biology & ecology of the Spotted Lanternfly, an invasive species. There will be a presentation, and field component. In the field we'll see a live demonstration of using conservation dogs for Spotted Lanternfly detection, and removal strategies for Tree of Heaven.

In 2026, we are hosting an expanded field day focused on regenerative row crop farming featuring reputable, Michigan and Midwest-based regenerative practitioners and technical experts, in-field Demonstrations and simulation stations, peer networking space, and informational tables. 

In this class go beyond the basics and dive deep into cloning mushrooms, taking spore prints, and creating your very own liquid cultures. This class will teach you how to sustainably cultivate mushrooms at home using professional techniques. Registration required through Jackson County Conservation District.

Join us to learn how living soil works is foundational to understanding regenerative farming. Practices like composting, mulching, reduced-tilling, and cover cropping are meant to protect the life in the soil. But what is the “life in this soil?”
