2025 Fall Sale Volunteers are the best!

Another Fall Tree & Native Plant Sale in the books!

Every year and every season has it's own challenges and opportunities. As the pre-sale launched in August and we've had a warm fall, the ground saw little rain, not so appealing conditions for planting. Fortunately we were blessed with some rain in the week or so leading up to the sale distribution.

While the weather and shifting climatic norms are hard to predict each year, we have been recognizing and evolving our Fall Sale focus to include more diversity of species.  In particular, we've been increasing our variety and quantities of potted trees & shrubs offered in the sale. We continue to sell out fast than expected and keep trying to source more from the amazing WildType Nursery to meet demand. We we're blown away by the 12' Chinquapin Oaks and 10' Basswoods in 7-gallon pots this year.

Additionally sourcing from Designs By Nature nurseries, the demand for garden kits and quart pots continues to grow, demonstrating increasing engagement and maintenance in native plant gardening and landscaping in our communities during the fall planting season. We keep testing our capacity to grow and meet the demand within our own level of sanity!

Speaking of sanity, the volunteers are the driving force of these events' operations.  The community of volunteers continues to grow and deepen, as we have folks who have returned every distribution this year and for many years in some cases.  Their continued support keeps the events fresh, fun, and possible at affordable costs to our growers. Want to join the fun and get the early access benefits?

Special thanks to the staff at Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner's Office's Master Rain Gardener program for being the founders, evolvers, and steady supporters of the work we carry on today getting plants to the people!

Catie led the volunteers!

Thanks especially to Catie from WCWRCO for stepping in to lead most volunteer shifts!

A2Zero discounts on plants!

A2Zero - City of Ann Arbor tabling at the distribution

Thanks Kyler & Angie for volunteering and educating our customers on A2Zero initiatives!

We had the good fortune to continue to partner with the City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations through their A2Zero program. They approached us to offer $3,000 in discounts for the fall sales. They marketed the sales and discounts to their participants of the Pollinator Aware Yard Care program and 10k Tree Giveaway program leading to huge increase in early sales engagement.  Many early customers got price savings to get more native plants and trees into the Ann Arbor landscape.

Thanks to you all at A2 and all your hard work becoming a national leader on climate action!
