Kathy is a retired nurse and Norm is a retired teacher living in York Township. If you know Kathy & Norm, you will know them to be some of the kindest, hardworking, considerate, and positive people. This pair is very deserving of this recognition for not only the time any effort they contribute to our events, but for all that they give to the community beyond WCCD.
In 1970 they began purchasing and planting trees. Originally their property was a field, but now they have many 50-ft tall trees. After volunteering with York Township Parks for 15 years, the pair was looking for new opportunities and began volunteering with us about 4 years ago.
Kathy and Norm are people that you can rely on, even when it means that we need help stuffing envelopes or standing in the hot sun directing traffic. They have always supported and encouraged our staff and creating a community of from those who volunteer with us. Their enthusiasm and love for serving their community are contagious. We truly appreciate the knowledge, humor, and energy that they bring to their volunteer efforts!
On behalf of the Washtenaw County Conservation District, thank you, Kathy & Norm!
