
Join us in commemorating another year of service to our community at the Washtenaw County Conservation District's 77th Annual Celebration, held at Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor, MI. Attendees will enjoy a delicious farm-to-table dinner provided by Harvest Kitchen, along with a keynote presentation by Bridget O'Brien of Gateway Farm and Garden Juju Collective, focusing on the connection between a permaculture mindset and conservation.
The event will include:
- A presentation on our work at the Washtenaw County Conservation District (WCCD)
- Awards for key community leaders

Director of Garden Juju Collective & Gateway Farm
Bridget & Charlie’s work at Gateway Farm is very much drawn from their consulting work as Garden Juju Collective in previous projects, research and teaching, with clients both domestically and internationally. They initially use a permaculture-inspired design approach that emphasizes the re-designability of everything.
They incorporate concepts such as:
- Rewilding as conservation
- Riparian repair
- Food heritage
- Soil health and climate-smart practices
- Carbon sequestration
- Resilience
- Ecopsychology and horticultural therapy
- Community engagement and collaboration
- Inclusivity
- Innovation and future planning

The Three Sisters; A tale I've heard passed down from Indigenous American Lore is the 3 sisters, corn, beans, and squash that were all grown together to save space and then all blended into a hearty stew. (GF and vegan)
