Kristen splits her time between serving as a Conservation Technical Assistance Program (CTAP) technician and supporting the Michigan Conservation Stewardship for Farmers Project (MCSFP). In both roles, she provides technical assistance to farmers and connects them with conservation opportunities, with a focus on promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

While studying at the University of Michigan, Kristen explored food systems before shifting her focus to conservation, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science. Some of her most memorable experiences include studying natural community types and foraging for fungi at the university’s Biological Station.

Outside of work, Kristen’s interests reflect her deep connection to nature and appreciation for circular systems. She enjoys gardening, being in nature, DIY projects, and participating in community-sharing initiatives rooted in the gift economy. Through these interests, she embraces opportunities to foster connections and promote more sustainable ways of living.
