Help Promote & Strengthen Conservation in Washtenaw County
The Washtenaw County Conservation District is dedicated to assisting land owners by providing education, technical assistance and leadership in conservation management. This year marks 72 years of dedicated conservation work in the County!
Our dedicated volunteers are an invaluable part of work we do at the District. We require each interested volunteer fill out a profile/contact form and sign a volunteer agreement before starting. There are several ways to get involved depending on your interests, time and goals.

1) Core Volunteer: Various WCCD opportunities for “drop in volunteers” to help execute distributions and events. Commitment is flexible and shifts are available depending on the event.
2) Committee Volunteer: Committee volunteers assist with helping to extend the reach of WCCD and shape programming. Committee opportunities include: Community Engagement & Education, Farmer Engagement & Education, Fund Development (including grant writing) Events and Conservation Resources. Committee work requires an average of 1-2 hours per week in addition to meetings. 3) Associate Director: Assist with the long-term capacity building of the WCCD by serving as a non-voting board director. This is an opportunity to learn more about the governing body of the WCCD. Commitment requires monthly board meetings and serving on a committee. |
